Brainspotting and EMDR Intensive Therapy in South Houston
-
Brainspotting & EMDR Intensives are personalized treatment plans that allow you to skip the waitlist by giving you faster access to select spots, and are designed to support your schedule and timeline for your treatment goals.
Brainspotting & EMDR Intensives allow the opportunity to progress through your symptoms and concerns in a more succinct and focused way without the interruption of a 50-minute session. Sessions during the Intensive would be 3-4 hours per day (1.5 to 2hrs at a time) for multiple days.
An intensive format may decrease overall treatment time because of time not spent on:
checking in at the beginning of each session
addressing current crises and concerns
focusing on stabilizing and coping skills that clients won’t need after healing
assisting clients in regaining composure at the end of the session because this is built into the work and at times not even needed

Before we get into the Intensive (the part where you’ll engage in Brainspotting & EMDR), we’ll meet for a Pre-Intensive Interview to determine the goal(s) of the time we’ll have together. We will look at what your life looks like now (what things are currently stressful in your life, what does your support system look like, how do you cope when you’re overwhelmed with big emotions and uncomfortable physical sensations), and places that you want relief, growth, or to take a big step forward.
During the Intensive we simultaneously work on decreasing the pain you’re feeling while also increasing your ability to connect with more enjoyable feelings, thoughts, and memories. We do this with deep-level brain processing in Brainspotting & EMDR, and learning which specific coping strategies work best for you.
Depending on where you are in life and your goal(s) for the Intensive, we may spend time processing relationships and events of your past or present, or your worries for the future. This process is very personal and customized to you.
After the Brainspotting & EMDR Intensive, we’ll meet for a Post-Intensive Interview to reflect on what you processed and learned, what was meaningful to you, and how do you let these new insights and shifts permeate into more of your life moving forward.

Healing is a personal journey, and each of us moves at our own pace.
For many, traditional once-a-week therapy sessions provide a steady path toward renewal and relief. But for some, barriers arise that make this approach challenging—sometimes even discouraging:
I’m tired of feeling stuck. Why does it seem like my progress is taking forever?
My schedule is overwhelming; fitting in time every week to attend therapy adds more stress.
I’m struggling intensely, and ‘life happening’ between sessions only seems to make it worse.
We believe that healing through therapy is a purposeful journey - a marathon, not a race - but it is also highly personal, and sometimes a new approach can make all the difference.
Our EMDR Intensives create an opportunity for deeply focused and transformative healing. In just a few hours, you can experience the kind of progress that typically unfolds over weeks or months.
Unlike the traditional 50 minute weekly session, we set aside a 4 to 6 hour period so we can dive deeper, work through more, and help you feel relief sooner.
Whether you have a specific goal, need symptom relief fast, or just want to see if this approach is a better fit for you, booking an Intensive Consult will help us find out if this is what you've been looking for.

What to Expect During an EMDR Intensive
Before We Begin
Before your intensive session, we’ll meet for a Pre-Intensive Interview to set the focus and goals for our time together.
During this conversation, we’ll look at what your life looks like right now—what’s currently stressful, who makes up your support system, and how you cope when overwhelming emotions or physical sensations arise. This session is an opportunity to identify areas where you’d like relief, growth, or a significant step forward. We make a personalized plan of care during this 60-minute session.
The Intensive Session
During your intensive session, we’ll work together to ease your pain and help you reconnect with positive feelings, thoughts, and memories. Using Brainspotting and EMDR, we’ll guide you through deep-level brain processing, helping you discover which coping strategies resonate best for you.
Depending on your unique goals, we may focus on processing past or present relationships, difficult events, or worries about the future. Each step in this process is personal and tailored to where you are in life and where you’d like to go. This session is the longest and most emotionally intense.
After Your Intensive
Following the Brainspotting & EMDR Intensive, we’ll meet for a Post-Intensive Interview to reflect on what you processed, what felt meaningful, and how you can carry these new insights into your life. This session is just as important as the other sessions, as it also allows your therapist to assess your current wellbeing after deep processing and whether or not you may need more support in the future.
This follow-up helps you integrate the changes and move forward with greater understanding and strength.
What will the fees for my treatment look like?
Our EMDR Intensives are designed to support your goals and offer flexible options based on your needs.
We provide half-day to multi-day intensive programs, with fees structured around the specific approach that fits your journey best. All fees are communicated up front in accordance with the No Surprises Act, ensuring clarity and transparency from the start.
Typical Fees
Intensive sessions are typically $200–$300 per hour and may qualify for partial reimbursement if you’re using out-of-network benefits. We offer package options starting at $1,000, which include an intake session, a 3-hour intensive, and a follow-up session.
Extended and Customized Intensives
If you’re interested in a longer or specially customized intensive, Kirsten is happy to discuss options. For sessions over 4 hours, we work with you to design a tailored experience that addresses your specific needs. Pricing for these extended sessions will vary based on the format, and we’ll ensure all details are clearly communicated and consented to in advance.
Kirsten offers a free phone or video call consultation to discuss your needs and explore how an intensive program can support you.
Note: For current clients adding intensive sessions to their existing care, rates may vary based on your current plan.
